1. Step-by-Step Borderless Photo Printing
Borderless printing expands the photograph slightly beyond the paper borders to avoid ugly white margins. Here is how to calibrate it perfectly:
- Load Genuine Photo Paper: Load Epson Premium Glossy, Semi-Gloss, or Luster photo paper into the rear feed slot or main cassette with the glossy side facing forward.
- Adjust Paper Guide Sliders: Snug the guide rails tightly against the paper edges to prevent angular skew during feeding.
- Select Photo Print in Smart Panel: Tap the Photo Print tile and choose images from your mobile gallery or cloud albums.
- Configure Print Settings:
- Paper Size: Select 4x6 in (10x15 cm), 5x7 in, or Letter/A4.
- Media Type: Choose Epson Premium Glossy (applying the exact printer ICC curve).
- Layout: Toggle Borderless to ON.
- Quality: Select High / Best for maximum drop-on-demand ink resolution.
- Preview & Crop: Use pinch-to-zoom to ensure critical faces are not located on the extreme bleeding margins where trimming occurs.
2. High-Resolution Mobile & Flatbed Scanning
Smart Panel offers two scanning modes: Hardware Flatbed Scanning and Camera Document Capture.
Hardware Scanner Mode (Flatbed / ADF)
Place your original document or photo face-down on the printer scanner glass. Tap Scan in the app dashboard. Select Resolution (300 DPI for text, 600-1200 DPI for photo archiving), pick PDF (Multi-page) or JPEG, and tap Scan. You can export directly to Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud Drive, or attach directly to an email.
Camera Document Capture (Mobile Camera)
When away from your printer, use your smartphone's camera via Smart Panel. The app automatically calculates perspective keystoning, removes shadow falloff, crops paper boundaries, and enhances text contrast.
